The Hounds' Witness

Corrie sits on Garrick's cot in a small plain room with a carburetor on the bench.

Garrick's room sat at the end of the hall. A cot, a dresser, a workbench with a carburetor on it, and one window that looked straight at the fence.

Synopsis

Corrie Fain can see the last moments of the dead. It has made her a freak in every town she runs to. Now she works nights at a broken motor court and keeps her head down, with only a gray wolf named Nix for company. Then a Gravel Hounds motorcycle club member is found murdered in room nine. The club drags Corrie to its clubhouse and calls her a killer. Their enforcer, Garrick Mays, is the only one who looks at her like a woman, not a weapon. She feels pulled to him in a way she cannot explain. He keeps her close. He also keeps her locked in. The Hounds' president, Kemp Dray, turns out to be the father who left Corrie behind. Now he wants her visions to save his club from a cartel war. Corrie wants to run. But Garrick's protection feels like the first real home she has had, even as the club makes it clear she is still not one of them. The real killer is still close, and the family that claims Corrie may not survive the truth.
