Fate's Spare Luna

Nova walks back to the radio shed alone and closes the door behind her.

I walked back to the shed and shut the door, and this time I did not wait for anybody's boots.

Nova

Not chosen. Fine. But I won't be made smaller for a man who counts me like a sack of tools.

My hands were steady on the wire. That scared me more than shaking would have.

Synopsis

“You have no wolf. You are not my Luna.” Evander Lowe said it in front of the whole pack. He was my mate. He had called our bond a mistake in private. At the pack meeting, he named another woman Luna and let everyone hear why I was not enough. Then he and his father offered me a breeder's place in his bed, hidden under his real Luna. They thought I would be grateful. I refused. I left with my radio tools and the pride I had left. At Coldwater Station, my wolf-less hands keep the weather radios alive, and no one calls me lesser. Corin Tarn is a rival Alpha's son with grief in his eyes and a family trying to sell him like a treaty. He sees me without pity. He makes me want things I swore off. The old bond still pulls. The pack still wants me back where they can use me. I will not be anyone's spare. Not even for love.
